The seminar starts with an introduction to parallelism and scalability and the architecture that supports the speed up or scale up of certain types of application workloads. Students also learn about the internals of parallel execution the parallel slave pool the parallel execution coordinator parallel execution plans and row distribution.
The seminar discusses the types of operations that may be done in parallel both for DBA and for developers as well as methods for tuning memory requirements and the use of the parallel slaves. Diagnostic and administrative v views are also discussed in detail in support of these objectives. The seminar will also include discussion of certain parallel hints and initialization parameters.
